Port of Illahee Department of Ecology Grant

Recently, the Port of Illahee Received a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology. This grant encompasses a number of issues surrounding the restoration and maintenance of Illahee Creek as a fish bearing stream.   The basic primary objectives of the grant are to control the storm surges that scour the stream corridor and deposit sediment into Port Orchard Bay, to push for the elimination of the fecal coliform contamination in the creek, and to develop a groundwater management plan that insures adequate base flow to support anadromous fish.
